The show consists of four egocentric friends (plus a terrific Danny Devito) who own an Irish pub in Philly. Always looking for a new scheme, they often find themselves in uncomfortable situations and in many cases, actual trouble. In every case, hilarity ensues.
The brilliance of the show comes not only from the storylines, but especially in the writing itself as well as the subleties of the actors. The show is written by the main characters, which allows them to play out the situations and dialogue exactly as they inteded. There's a slight air of ad-libbing, adding authenticity to the actors' lines. Nearly every episode is a keeper, and even the few weaker ones are chock full of hilarious quotes. A must-see for all Seinfeld and Arrested Development fans.
The gang can be seen on FX, but just finished the fourth season. I'd expect to see season five in the fall. The first three seasons are available on DVD.
For a full description, episode list, and some of those quotes, I suggest wikipedia and/or IMDb.
